Stowaway Labs – General Terms of Use

Effective date: 10/1/2025

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern use of Stowaway Labs ("Stowaway," "we," "our," "us") by members, non‑members, and drop‑in users (collectively, "Users"). By entering or using the premises, booking a desk, or purchasing time, you agree to these Terms. If you are a recurring Member, these Terms supplement your Membership Agreement; if there is a conflict, the Membership Agreement controls for Members.

1) Hours, Access & Check‑In

  1. Business hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, excluding posted holidays or private events.

  2. Access method: Doors are open during business hours; no keys/codes are issued to non‑members.

  3. Check‑in: All Users must check in upon arrival and truthfully provide name, email, and purpose of use. Government ID may be requested.

  4. Capacity & availability: Seating is first‑come, first‑served and subject to availability. Members have priority over non‑members/drop‑ins.

2) Eligibility & Use

  1. Age: Users must be 18+. No children are permitted on site.

  2. Intended use: Quiet, individual knowledge work. Stowaway is not a public café, retail venue, or event space except as expressly arranged.

  3. Prohibited uses: Illegal activity; hazardous materials; disruptive filming/recording; sales solicitations to other Users; running classes/events without prior approval.

3) Rates, Billing & Refunds (Non‑Members / Drop‑Ins)

  1. Rates: Drop‑in use is billed at the posted non‑member rates (hourly and/or day cap) plus applicable sales tax. Current rates are displayed on site or online and may change without notice.

  2. Minimums/increments: Bookings are subject to a 2-hour minimum duration and are billed in 30-minute increments.

  3. Payment: Payment is due at time of booking or check‑in. Unpaid use is not permitted.

  4. Cancellations/no‑shows: Late cancellations or no‑shows may incur a fee up to the minimum booking or posted policy.

  5. No refunds: Time purchased and not used is non‑refundable once the booking window begins, except where we cancel access.

Note: Members are billed under their Membership Agreement. Overage time, if any, is charged at the posted member overage rate.

4) Bookings & Fair‑Use

  1. Users may not block or reserve seats for others or leave belongings to “hold” a space while off‑site.

  2. We may limit maximum booking length, frequency, or concurrent bookings to protect fair access for all Users.

  3. We may adjust or cancel bookings for safety, maintenance, private events, or policy violations.

5) Zones, Noise & Calls

  1. Maintain a calm coffee‑shop level of quiet. Headphones required for all audio.

  2. Phone/Zoom calls must be taken outside or in designated booths (if available).

  3. Respect posted signage for any focus/quiet zones.

6) Guests & Visitors

  1. Non‑members may not bring guests without prior approval. Members may host guests for business purposes up to 2 hours, with the guest remaining with the host at all times. Guests may not use Stowaway as their personal workspace. Frequent guests should purchase their own access.

7) Food, Drinks & Refreshments

  1. Outside food and non‑alcoholic drinks are permitted; no alcohol without written approval.

  2. Complimentary items (e.g., drip coffee/tea/water) are for on‑site consumption by active Users only. Premium beverages or snacks may be sold separately.

8) Equipment, Printing & Property

  1. Shared equipment (e.g., monitors, printers) is provided as‑available. Do not alter or remove mounts, cables, or settings.

  2. Printing is subject to posted limits and fees; large or commercial print jobs require prior approval.

  3. Keep valuables with you. Stowaway is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property.

9) Storage & Lockers

  1. Day‑use shelves/lockers may be available and must be emptied daily unless expressly assigned. Unclaimed items may be removed or disposed of after 48 hours.

10) Outdoor Deck & Adjacent Dock (Third‑Party Property)

  1. The outdoor deck is part of Stowaway’s premises. The adjacent dock/gangway (the “Dock”) is owned/controlled by the building owner and is not part of Stowaway’s premises or services. Use of the Dock is at the owner’s discretion and at your own risk.

  2. Prohibited on the Dock: using as a workspace; boarding/touching vessels; handling lines/equipment; blocking access; running/jumping; fishing or entering the water; storing property. Comply with all posted rules and any instruction from the Dock owner/building management.

  3. We may restrict or close the deck or adjacent areas at any time for safety, operations, or events.

11) Conduct, Safety & Enforcement

  1. Follow all posted policies and the Stowaway Code of Conduct. We may issue verbal/written warnings or require Users to leave for disruptive or unsafe behavior.

  2. No pets. No smoking/vaping inside or on the deck.

  3. Keep aisles and exits clear; do not tamper with electrical, fire, or network infrastructure.

12) Mail & Virtual Address (Add‑On Service)

  1. Mail/virtual address service is available only to subscribed Users who complete required USPS forms (including Form 1583). We do not guarantee acceptance of packages beyond reasonable limits and do not offer mail forwarding unless expressly agreed.

13) Photography, Video & Marketing

  1. Photography for commercial/business purposes is expressly prohibited without a signed photography agreement with Stowaway Labs.

  2. We may capture photos/video of the space for marketing. If you prefer not to appear, inform staff in writing and avoid camera areas during shoots.

14) Waivers, Liability & Indemnity

  1. Use of the space (including the deck) is at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Users release and hold harmless Stowaway from claims for injury, theft, or property damage arising from use of the premises.

  2. Users further release/indemnify Stowaway from claims related to the Dock, gangway, any vessel, or adjacent waters, and are responsible for damages they or their guests cause.

15) Taxes, Changes & Termination

  1. Applicable sales tax will be added to fees. We may update rates and policies at any time; the most current version is posted on‑site or online.

  2. We may refuse or terminate access to anyone for any lawful reason, including capacity constraints or policy violations. Non‑members whose access is terminated will receive a refund for any unused pre‑paid time in our discretion.

16) Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

  1. These Terms are governed by Washington State law. Disputes will be resolved first through mediation, then binding arbitration if unresolved.
